Round One: Your Best Shot. Completed
London Drugs/Black Press invited amateur photographers to submit photographs for round one of the contest. Photographs from any genre was accepted. This round is now closed.
Round Two: The Next Generation -
Amateur Photographer of the Year. Completed.
Round two selected finalists were invited to join a team of photographers at this year's Abbotsford International Airshow.
Each finalist represented their home community newspaper and city.
Selected contestants/photographers received:
- All access pass to the Airshow for 3 days.
- VIP Access to the London Drugs/Black Press Photo Pit. (Preferred location for Airshow photography)
- Light refreshments served throughout the day
- Private tours on the 'hotside' of the show
- One carload pass for their entire family
Top amateur photographers will be awarded the following:
- The Best in-air photograph ($750 grand prize courtesy of London Drugs)
- The Best ground/static scene photograph ($500 prize courtesy of London Drugs)
- The Best crowd scene photograph ($250 prize courtesy of London Drugs)
- and honorary acknowledgement for Best Wildcard entry. Wildcard entries contributes points to overall winner.
Plus:
- The Best video submission ($500 prize courtesy of London Drugs)
- People's Choice Award ($250 prize courtesy of London Drugs)
Finalists were required to submit photographs at the Airshow.
Round Three - 'NOW LIVE':
VOTING for The Next Generation - Completed
People's Choice Award.
Following the Abbotsford International Airshow August 7th, 8th, 9th, voting for the People's Choice Photo Award will commence. The winning photograph, named the People's Choice Award, will be based on the number of votes received. Closing date September 7th 2015 @Midnight.
JUDGING for The Next Generation - Completed
Amateur Photographer of the Year.
The Next Generation Amateur Photographer of the Year will be named in October 15th 2015 (updated). An independent judging panel, made up of professionals, will review all photographs submitted during the show. Judges will determine the winners of the top three categories and the overall Amateur Photographer of the Year. The wild card entries will assist judges making their decision when selecting the overall winner.
Prizes will be presented in September 2015. Date to be confirmed.
Prizing:
- Top finalists selected will win the prizes as outlined above.
- One finalist will receive 'People's Choice Award' and 2 tickets to the BC Lions.
- One voter in the People's Choice Award, will win 2 tickets to the BC Lions
Official Rules:
Contest starts August 14th 2015. Closing date September 7th @ midnight.
No purchase necessary. Maximum ten votes per person per day.
Judges decision final and no correspondence will be entered into. No cash alternative.
Prizes must be accepted as awarded - London Drugs gift certificates,
Employees of Black Press, London Drugs and the Abbotsford International Airshow are not eligible to enter.
Must be B.C. resident.

Submitted photographs may be used throughout Black Press multimedia platforms or Abbotsford Airshow platforms. Photographs will not be resold or passed to a third party, however, they are in the public domain and Black Press/London Drugs/Abbotsford International Airshow cannot be responsible for public usage.

General Rules:
You must be 13 years of age or older at time of entry to be eligible to vote in the contest. (Parental consent may be required) This contest is void where prohibited by law.
If a winner is unreachable after seven (7) days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected. If Black Press cannot find an eligible winner for the prize, that prize will not be awarded.
Only one registered account per user. If multiple accounts are detected for a single user, they will be disabled.
Black Press reserves the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value.
Employees of Black Press, its respective parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising sponsors and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of each are not eligible.
Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest.

All results posted are unofficial until winners respond to e-mail notification.
This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.
Black Press reserves the right to change the rules at any time.
